In south india filter coffee is the most preferred beverage in vegetarian restaurants. Every breakfast is completed with the finishing touch of filter coffee. Let us make this at home as good as at restaurants.

Ingredients
- Filter coffee powder 2 tablespoon
- Milk 1/2 litre
- Sugar 3 tablespoon
- Water 100ml

Instructions
- We have a special utensil for preparing coffee decoction called as filter . It has an upper segment with sieved and lower segment for collection of decoction
- Add 2 tablespoons of coffee powder in the upper segment and press gently.
- Boil water till it starts steaming. Pour water over the coffee powder in circular motion till the brim and close the lid
- Wait for 15 minutes and collect the decoction.
- Mean while boil milk. Add 3/4th tablespoon of sugar in a glass and pour frothy milk over it
- Now add the decoction to the milk according to the strength you prefer.
- In authentic restaurants filter coffee is served in a brass tumbler rested on a wide cup known as DABARA set. The person drinking mixes the coffee with the help of tumbler and DABARA .
Notes
- the first boiled milk and the first decoction. Tastes the best.
