- to make stuffing: in a frying pan, add grated coconut, sugar and cardamom powder
- fry it until sugar melts and the mixture becomes little dry
- turn off the flame and keep it aside
- to make outer layer: in another pan add water and sugar, boil it
- when it starts boiling, add semolina stirring continuously to avoid forming lumps
- add oil and cardamom powder
- cook this mixture for a minute
- remove from flame and keep aside
- wait till the dough cools down to room tempreture
- knead for few seconds to make the dough soft
- make small balls from the dough, flatten slighlty and put stuffing to it, then roll it again to make a ball
- make the balls into flat shape in between your palms
- heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the flatten balls on medium flame till it turns golden brown from each side
- kakara pitha is ready, serve hot or cool
