Shahi Tukda For Valentines Day Dessert

A very simple Indian Dessert that can be easily pre-made and kept for chilling till serving time.No stress for your special Valentine's Day celebration.

  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1-2 tbsp Sugar optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon elaichi powder
  • A few unsalted pista slivers
  • 4 Brown bread slices
  • 1/2 sugar boiled and dissolved in 1 cup water


  • Boil the milk on slow flame till half. Keep on stirring it. Add Condensed Milk, sugar, elaichi powder. Reduce it to thick paste consistency. Add the pistas keeping a few for garnishing. Cook for 5 minutes more Keep to cool.
  • Cut each slice into 2 triangles and lightly brush with oil. Toast in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. Eyeball it to see if it has toasted to a golden brown. Each oven differs hence one has to judge it. OR Deep fry to golden brown.
  • Add the bread slices to the sugar syrup. Let them soak for 15-20minutes. Remove from syrup. Arrange in a plate. Put Rabri on top. Garnish with pistas. Chill a bit before serving.
