Sama Rice Kheer is fasting special sweet. It tastes similar to the regular rice kheer.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ Cup sama rice (Washed and soaked in enough water for 30 minutes)
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar (you can add or less as per your taste)
  • 1 Litre Full Fat Milk
  • 10-12, Cashewnuts chopped
  • 15-17, Raisins
  • 10 to 12, Almonds chopped
  • Few Saffron strands soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk - optional
  • 2-3 drops of kewra essence

Instructions
 

  • In a heavy bottom pan, add milk and turn on the gas.
  • When the milk starts boiling, add sama rice and reduce the flame to medium and cook till sama rice is cooked and the mixture becomes thick.
  • Now add sugar, soaked saffron strands, half of dry fruits and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes. Add kewra essence remove it from heat.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining dry fruits and serve warm or chilled.

Notes

You can adjust the thickness of kheer as per your taste.
