Sweet Pongal or Sakkarai, A Deliciousssss droolicious delicacy from south indian , specially prepared on the occasion of Pongal or Makar Sankranti
Yield / Serves
Rice 1/2 cup
Yellow moong dal 1/4th cup
Jeggary (gud) 1 cup
Cardamom powder 1/4th teaspoon
Cashew nuts 10
Raisins 1 tablespoon
Ghee or clarified butter 1 tablespoon
Ingredients required for preparing sweet Pongal
Take rice and dal . In a heavy bottom pan dry roast till golden brown ( on low heat) Later , wash properly with water and keep aside .
Add approximately 1-2 glasses of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles
By the time , heat ghee in a pan and fry all dry fruits one by one till Crisp and golden brown
Mix well jeggary and cook open for some time till jaggery dissloves . Lastly, add fried dry fruits with ghee and sprinkle cardamom powder
Serve with lots of love and enjoy endlessly
