Naattu Kozhi biriyani or Country chicken biriyani is available in most of the non vegetarian restaurants .They are tha first to get over also. Country chicken has an unique flavour and enhances the taste of biriyani. You will love the taste of this simple yet flavour ful biriyani as it is easier to cook at home with a pressure cooker.

Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Country Chicken or naattu kozhi
- 1/2 kg Jeera or rice samba rice
- 100 gm Onion
- 5 Green Chillies
- 2 leaves Mint
- 1 large Tomato
- 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 50 ml Desi Ghee
- 50 ml Oil
- 1 leaves Coriander
- 1 leaves Curry
- 2 leaves Bay Leaves 2 bay
- 2 inch Cinnamon
- 5 cloves 5
- 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1-2 tsp Salt accordingly, or as per taste
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder

Instructions
- Wash and soak jeera samba rice in water for 15 minutes and drain the water.
- Coarsely grind the cloves,cinnamon and fennel seeds
- In a pressure cooker heat 50 ml of oil
- Add thinly sliced onions and Green chillies and stir well till onion turns pink
- Add bay leaves and crushed masala
- Add curry leaves,mint leaves and finely chopped tomato and stir well
- Add washed and cleaned chicken and stir well
- Add ginger garlic paste, chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt ,half glass water and pressure cook for 5 whistle as country chicken takes time to cook
- Once pressure is released add 5 cups of water to the cooked chicken and let it boil
- Once water starts boiling,add rice,finely chopped coriander leaves and ghee. Adjust the salt and spice levels.
- Pressure cook for 3 whistles in high flame.
- After pressure is released,stir gently.
- Serve hot with onion raitha
Recipe Notes
Broiler chicken can also be cooked similarly but we need not whistle in between for cooking the chicken.
