A simple snack recipe with urad daal rice batter in for of small round deep fried dumplings.
Yield / Serves
1/2 cup urad dal
1/4 cup rice
2 tbsp chopped onions
2 tbsp chopped green chillies
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
Semolina 1-1/2 tbsp
In a bowl add urad daal and rice
Wash the ingredients well
Soak them in water for 7-8 hours
Strain the soaked water
Add the soaked ingredients into a blender
Add little water and blend into a fine paste
Make a thick batter and not a thin batter
Ferment the batter for about 7-8 hours or overnight
After fermentation mix the batter well
Add salt and mix
Add chopped onions green chillies coriander leaves cumin seeds and semolina.batter should be thick
Make round balls and drop them in oil.deep fry them till golden brown on both sides on low flame
Serve with red chilli chutney,peanut chutney
