    Prawn masala curry is a South Indian style coconut based prawn curry. Prawn masala curry is easy and quick to prepare with basic ingredients from your kitchen. It is a delicious and rich curry recipe. Perfect with piping hot steamed rice or can even have with chapati, roti, dosa etc.

    Ingredients
      

    • Prawns 300 grams
    • Cinnamon 1 small stick
    • Cardamon 2
    • Clove 2
    • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
    • Onion 1 large chopped finely
    • Green chilly 3 chopped
    • Tomato 1 large chopped finely
    • Chilly powder 1 tsp
    • Coriander powder 2 tsp
    • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
    • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
    • Coconut ¼ cup finely grated
    • Lemon juice 1 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil 3 tbsps
    • Water as required
    • Few chopped coriander leaves

    Instructions
     

    • Heat the oil in a pan. Add the whole spices and let it crackle.
    • Add the onions, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, half of curry leaves and saute for 2 mins.
    • Add the powdered masalas except the garam masala powder. Mix well and saute for a min.
    • Add the prawns, cover the pan and cook in low flame till the water evaporates completely which will take around 5 mins or little more.
    • Add water as required, garam masala powder, grated coconut, remaining curry leaves, mix well.
    • Cook on high flame for around 10 mins stirring occasionally.
    • Adjust the gravy consistency as per your requirement, add lemon juice and take off the flame.
    • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
