Potato Dal Stir Fry

Potato Dal stir fry is a easy and quick recipe. A delicious and great side dish.

  • Potato - 2 peeled and cut into julienne
  • Mixed Dal - 1/4 cup soaked
  • Beans - 10-15 cut into 2-3 cm size
  • Cumin - ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Onion - 1 sliced
  • Green Chilly - 3 slit
  • Tomato - 1 chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilly powder - ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder - ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil - 2-3 tbsp


  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and saute for a min. Add the onion and green chillies and fry till onion turns soft. Add the tomatoes and fry till mushy.
  • Add turmeric, chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, Salt and fry for a min.
  • Add the potatoes, beans, dal, kasuri methi and mix well. Cover the pan and fry on low heat stirring every 2-3 mins to prevent burning and even cooking.
  • Fry till everything is cooked completely which will take around 15-20 mins. Do not add water.
  • You can add some chopped coriander leaves, give a quick stir and take off the heat.
