Ingredients & Quantity
  • suji/rava-1 cup
  • boiled vegetables(peas,carrots,beans) - 1/2 cup
  • water- 2.5 cups
  • salt- to taste
  • onion (chopped)- 1/2 cup
  • capsicum(chopped)- 1/2 cup
  • red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies(chopped)- 1 tsp
  • garam masala-1 tsp
  • mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • curry leaves- 1 tsp
  • basil leaves- a bunch
  • pinenuts/walnuts- 10-12
  • garlic- 2 tbsp
  • olive oil- 1/4 cup
  • parmesan cheese-1/4 cup
How to cook?
  1. 1. to make pesto sauce, add basil leaves, olive oil,pinenuts,parmesan cheese,salt and garlic in a blender. blend till a smooth paste is formed.
  2. to make upma, heat a pan. add oil. saute ginger,garlic,onion and capsicum. add in suji/rava. and stir it and cook till a little brown colour appears. add in water and boiled vegetablesand . cook well till mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  3. when the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, add in the pesto sauce and salt and cook again for 4-5 minutes.
  4. serve with chilly tomato sauce.
