Paneer tawa masala is a very tempting and delicious paneer recipe made with paneer as the main ingredient and cooked in spicy onion-tomato gravy. Roasted paneer pieces gives a good flavour to this dish. Paneer tawa masala is a very simple and easy to make paneer recipe and a perfect side dish for rotis and naans.

Ingredients
- 250 gm Cottage cheese (paneer) cut into small cubes
- 1 Onion chopped finely
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds optional
- 2 to 3 Green Chillies slit vertically into two
- 1 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1/2 cep Tomato puree
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Fresh cream
- Coriander for garnishing
- Salt to taste
To marinate paneer
- 1 tbsp Curd crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp Kasuri methi

How to make paneer tawa masala recipe
- Take a mixing bowl. Add curd, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and crushed kasoori methi. Mix well. Add paneer pieces and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add the paneer pieces and shallow fry for 2-3 minutes by tossing them well. Take care not to burn them. Remove them to a plate.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan. Once oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and carom seeds and allow it to splutter.
- Then add chopped onions and saute till they become translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes on a low flame.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder and mix well.
- Add tomato puree and cook for 5-6 minutes on a medium flame or till oil separates.
- Add the roasted paneer pieces to this onion-tomato mixture and mix well. Add half a cup of water and cook on a low to medium flame for another 5 minutes
- Add garam masala powder and fresh cream and mix well. Add lime juice and combine together. Switch off the flame.
- Remove paneer tawa masala to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve paneer tawa masala hot with rotis or naans or parathas.Â
