Palak Aloo

Aloo palak, a delicious hyderabadi and north indian recipe made using palak leaves and aloo. This dry potato spinach dish that goes very well as a side dish with rotis, chapatis or pooris.

  • 1 bunch spinach washed and chopped
  • 2 medium size potatoes cut into small pieces
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 4 green chilies finely chopped
  • Salt
  • 5 tbsp Oil


  • Heat oil in kadhai, add onion and saute till it get light brown in color.
  • Add green chilies n saute for 30seconds.
  • Add potatoes n spinach mix it well. When spinach get soft n half add salt to taste. Cover the lid n cook it on low flame till sabzi get dry and potatoes cooked well.
  • Serve this palak aloo sabzi with dal rice.


Do not add water in sabzi. Potatoes will cook well with spinach.
