It is the recipe of South Indian Curry. Onion Saalan is made up of whole spices and themain ingredientin this dish is small onions.

Ingredients
- Ingredients for 5 whole spices.
- 2 tspn peanuts
- 2 tspn Corriander seeds
- 6 to 8 curry leaves
- 1 tblspn cumin seeds
- 2 dry whole red chilli
- 10 to 11 small onion
- Ingredients for Saalan
- 8 to 10 small onions
- 2 tspn ginger garlic paste
- Few curry leaves
- 2 onion paste
- 1 tspn black mustard seeds
- 1 tspn fenugreek seeds
- 1 tspn curry leaves
- 1 tspn haldi powder
- 2 tspn Tamarind pulp
- 200 ml water
- Salt
- 1 tblspn Oil

Instructions
- Roast all the dry 5 whole spices and grind it. Now take a kadai and heat the oil in it. Put the mustard seeds, when starts spluttering add fenu greek seeds and curry leaves. Then add ginger garlic paste and onion paste.
- Saute it for few mins and stirr continously till it becomes brown. Now add salt, haldi powder and roasted spices powder. Mix it ery well and stirr it for 4 to 5 mins low flame. Now add tamarind pulp, water and Small onions. Cover it with the lid.
- Now let it cook for 10 mins. When Onions becomes soft turn off the flame. Now its ready. Serve this Onion Saalan with chapati and Rice. What ever you like.
