Onion - Ginger chutney is a spicy chutney to serve with Idly or Dosa. The one who likes the taste of ginger will love this spicy and tasty chutney. The onions and ginger are sauteed along with red chillies and ground into smooth paste is further seasoned with Mustard seeds and urad dal.

Ingredients
- 2 Onions chopped
- 1 inch Ginger approx, 1 tbsp finely chopped
- small piece Tamarind
- 4 - 5 Red Chillies adjust according to taste bud dry
- 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
- 2 tsp Oil for sauteing
- 2 tsp Gingelly Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Urad Dal
- 1 pinch Hing Powder

Instructions
- Heat 2 Tsp oil in a pan and add the chopped onions.
- Saute for a minute in a medium flame and add the ginger piece along with the dry red chillies and tamarind.
- Saute it together for couple of minutes and remove from the flame.
- Cool the sauteed mixture and grind into smooth paste by adding salt and little water.
- Once done, transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds.
- Once it starts spluttering, add urad dal followed by the hing powder.
- Fry and add it to the ground chutney.
- Mix well and serve with Idly or Dosa.
