Ingredients
- Moong dal-1cup
- Elephant apple-2 long cut slices
- Ginger- About an inch crushed
- Raw banana/colocasia/Yam/Raw Papaya cut into dice-1.5cup
- Ghee-1.5tsp
- Asafoetida-1/2 tsp
- Jeera-1 tsp
- Bay leaf-1
- Salt
- Coriander leaves- for garnishing

Instructions
- Soak the dal for about ten minutes.Meanwhile cut and dice the vegetables.Crush the Elephant apple slices a bit so that they look shredded but not disintegrated.(This is done to release the tanginess of the elephant Apple into the dal)
- Take the dal and all the veggies together in a pressure cooker.Add the crushed ginger.Put about 3-4 cups of water.And let it pressure cook till one whistle. Take it immediately off the gas and let it settle.
- In a kadhai,heat ghee. Put the asafoetida,jeera and bay leaf.As soon as the tadka is fragrant,put the dal on it and cook for a while.
- Add chopped dhaniya patta and crushed roasted jeera& Lal mirch for garnishing. Serve hot with rice or Puri.
