Oats cutlet is a healthy and easy snack made with oats, potato and spices. I make cutlets often at home as they are easy to make, healthy and also delicious. It is a perfect tea time snack and also a nutritious after school snack for kids. It also makes a light breakfast.

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats or cooking quick cooking
  • 1/2 cup Onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup Carrot chopped
  • 2 tsp Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 mashed potato boiled
  • 2 tbsp coriender leaves chopped chopped coriender
  • 1/2 red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala garam masal
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • 1/2 cup Oil


  • Dry roast the oats and keep it aside. Heat little oil in a pan, add green chillies, onion and carrot. Add salt and saute well.
  • Add chilli powder, garam masala and chaat masala and toss well. Add the potatoes and fry for about 5 minutes
  • Add the oats and coriander and mix well.
  • Make it into small ball of equal size and make it round flat shaped cutlets.
  • Heat a pan with 2 tbsp oil and place the cutlets. When the bottom turns golden brown, flip to the other side
  • Remove when both the sides become golden brown.
  • Enjoy it hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney along with your evening cup of tea or coffee.

Recipe Notes

You can deep fry the cutlets if you like.
