  • cup Semolina half
  • 1 cup Oats
  • 3-4 tbsp Yoghurt sp
  • An Onion finely chopped
  • Green Chillies chopped
  • Grated Ginger
  • 1-2 leaves Curry mustard seeds and
  • Eno fruit salt or salt, or eno salt or eno


  • Make a thick batter with the semolina, oats, yoghurt, water and salt. Keep it aside for 15-20 mins.
  • In a pan heat oil. Splutter the mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves.
  • Add the onions, green chilly and ginger. Cook for few mins. 
  • Sdd this to the batter. Add eno and mix the batter well.
  • Grease the appe patra pan and heat it. Add the batter and cover.

  • Cook on low flame for 6-8 mins. Flip over and repeat the cooking time.
  • Serve hot with any spicy dip. This yields about 20 appes.
