About this Recipe

A popular gujarati breakfast or snack made from broken wheat, bajre ke Atta and wheat flour with some spices and tempered with Tadka.

Ingredients & Quantity
  • Broken Wheat ( Daliya / Fada) , Boiled - 1 cup
  • Wheat Flour - 1 /2 cup
  • Bajare ka Aata - 1/ 4 cup
  • Fresh Methi Leaves - 1/2 cup
  • Curd - 3 Tablespoons
  • Green Chilli Paste - 1 Tablespoon
  • Ginger Paste - 1 Tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Garam Masala - 1 Teaspoon
  • Lemon Juice - 2 Tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 Tablespoon
  • Soda - 1 /2 Teaspoon
  • Ingredients For Tempering :
  • Oil - 2 Tablespoons
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 Teaspoons
  • Sesame Seeds - 2 Teaspoons
  • Hing - 1 /2 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves - 4 to 5
How to cook?
  1. Take one bowl, add broken wheat, wheat flour, bajre ka ata, methi, curd, green chilly paste, ginger paste, salt, turmeric powder, gram masala, lemon juice, sugar, soda and mix well.
  2. Make semi soft dough. Do not use water to make dough. Make small bolls and steam for 1 /2 hour on high flame.
  3. Heat oil in tadka pan, add mustard seeds, let them splutter. Add curry leaves, sesame seeds ,hing and add muthiya and mix well. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with masala curd.
