About No Bake Energy Balls With Oman Dates
No Bake Energy Balls with Oman Dates is a delightful fusion snack created as part of the Belly Nirvana program in collaboration with Place of Origin. Upon receiving a pack of Oman dates, I immediately noticed their superior quality—large, moist, and crystal clear, with tiny seeds and an irresistible plumpness. Their natural sweetness not only enhances the flavor but also beautifully binds together a powerhouse mix of almonds, cashews, walnuts, and watermelon seeds.
Determined to offer my son a healthier alternative to sugary treats, I crafted these vegan, gluten-free energy balls—rich in protein and free from added sugar. They're perfect for satisfying a post-meal sweet tooth while sneaking in nutritious nuts and dates. My son was thrilled by the taste, surprised to find dates as the secret ingredient, and now plans to recreate this easy, no-bake recipe for his next school cooking competition.

Instructions
- For this recipe we need dates, almonds, cashew, pistachio, watermelon seeds and walnuts. In a jar take all the nuts except dates and grind them.
- I personally like chunks of dry fruits so I didnTMt powder them.
- Now take dates in jar and grind the dates. Mix crushed dates and powdered nuts well.
- In case you feel the mixture is tough to bind then you can add 1 tsp of honey to it. But my mixture was perfect in texture and was easy to roll.
- Now prepare small size balls from the prepared mixture. I got 20 protein balls with this measurement.
Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- For extra flavor complexity, lightly toast the nuts and watermelon seeds in a dry pan before pulsing them with the dates—this enhances both crunch and aroma without adding oil.
- If the mixture feels too dry to roll into balls, add a teaspoon of nut butter (like almond or cashew). This not only improves binding, but also adds richness and creaminess to the texture.
- Roll the finished energy balls in finely chopped pistachios, unsweetened desiccated coconut, or even cocoa powder for an attractive presentation and an extra layer of taste.
- Store the energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days, or freeze for up to a month—making them a convenient make-ahead snack for lunchboxes or travel.
