Nariyal Magaz burfi is a traditional Janmashtami recipe which taste heavenly and offer as a prasad to Lord Krishna. You can make Nariyal Magaz (melon seeds) burfi at home very easily. Read on to know how to make Nariyal Magaz burfi recipe a delicious sweet recipe for Janmashtami.

Ingredients
  

  • Desiccated coconut– 1/2 cup
  • Magaz melon seeds- 1 cup
  • Sugar -2 cups
  • Water -1 1/2 cup

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast Desiccated coconut for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame in a heavy bottomed pan or till it change it color to little pink. Do not roast on high flame otherwise it get burnt.
  • Dry roast the Magaz (melon seeds) in a heavy bottomed pan or till it starts spluttering. Do not roast on high flame otherwise it may get burnt easily.
  • Grind roasted melon seed coarsely in a grinder.
  • To make sugar syrup mix sugar and water in a saucepan and boil for 10 minutes till slightly become thick to get 2 threads syrup. You can check the sugar thread by pressing a sugar syrup drop between your fingers.
  • Add roasted coconut and coarsely grounded magaz in sugar syrup, mix well for 3-4 minutes so that all the ingredients mix properly.
  • Spread the mixture onto a well greased thali or plate. Let it cool till it get set. Cut into desired shape pieces and serve.
