It is a delicious south Indian Condiment goes well with dosas and other south indian delicacies. It is most famous in karnataka.

Ingredients
  

  • Chana dal : 1/2 cup
  • Oil : 1 tsp
  • Dessicated coconut :1 tsp
  • Dry red chillies : 5
  • Water : 1/4 cup approx. increase or decrease as per consistency
  • Curry leaves : 8 -10
  • Imli pulp/ lemon juice : 1 tbsp
  • Ginger : 1 tsp
  • Salt : 1 tsp

Instructions
 

  • .Heat oil in a pan.Add chana dal and roast well.
  • Keep aside to cool.
  • .Soak dry red chillies in warm water for half an hour.
  • In a blender grind together roasted dal, dry red chillies broken into pieces, imli pulp, salt, coconut, curry leaves, ginger and water. oil in a pan.Add chana dal and water.
  • Grind to a coarse paste.
  • Your Mysore chutney is ready. Enjoy it as a spread on dosas or with other south indian delicacies.

Notes

  • Note : If you find it too spicy you can add 1 tsp sugar to calm down the spiciness.
