Mushroom Fried Rice

A Chinese style adapted easy mushroom fried rice. Make this for the lunch or dinner and is a complete one pot wholesome meal with minimalistic spices.

  • Button mushrooms chopped - 1 cup
  • Carrots chopped - 1/4 th cup
  • Beans chopped - 1/4 th cup
  • Bell peppers chopped - 1/4 th cup
  • Green chillies chopped - 3 tbsp
  • Garlic chopped - 3 tbsp
  • Ginger chopped - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 2 tsp
  • Ajinamoto - 1/4 th tsp optional
  • Cooked rice - 1.5 cups
  • Salt
  • Refined oil


  • Heat a wok with some oil. Add the chopped garlic, ginger and chillies.
  • Once they start smelling, add the chopped vegetables except the mushrooms.
  • Add required amount of salt and cook till the vegetables are almost done. Finally add the mushrooms and Ajinamoto.
  • Cook till the mushrooms are done and almost dry. Then add the cooked rice and stir.
  • Add the pepper powder and give it a mix. Check for salt and serve.
