Moringa flowers basanti dal. Spring season which is basant ritu. In this season people infected with different types of viruses and bacterial infection. Moringa tree is a medicinal plant and miracle tree. Leaves, flowers and fruits are edible.
As per ayurveda moringa flowers are protected over all visions health. There are good sources of vitamin A, vitamin C to reduce inflammation which can help boost the immune system. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding they should avoid.
May cause of miscarriage and risk for infants. I made lintel which is common recipe and used in our routine diet.
We get this medicinal moringa flowers in the spring (basant) season. I also used catch turmeric powder to give a bright texture (basanti colour). Title of the recipe named with the combination of basant ritu and basanti colour.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup toor dal
  • 1 cup moringa flowers
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder I used catch brand
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp desi ghee
  • 2 dried red chilies
  • 8 to 10 garlic cloves
  • 2 to 4 green chilies
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • Coriander leaves fresh
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Wash the dal and soak for 20 minutes to reduce the cooking time without pressure cooker.
    Moringa flowers basanti dal
  • Heat the wok add oil then smoke will come out. Add soaked toor dal whole garlic, turmeric powder and salt. Sauté for a few seconds. Add 1½ glass water and cover with lid.
  • Let cook for 10 to 15 minutes in low flame. Then open the lid add green chillies.
  • In other side heat a pan add desi ghee, red chillies, cumin seeds, ginger paste, tomato paste, asafoetida and moringa flowers. Saute for a minute and pour into the cooked dal.
  • Again cook for 2 minutes and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve with steamed rice or chapati.
