Moong Dal Ki Khichdi

  • Rice 1/1/2 cup
  • Moong dal with skin 1/1/2 bowl
  • Salt
  • 2 Sliced onion
  • 4 whole red chili
  • Heeng 1 tsp
  • Desi ghee clarified butter2 tbsp
  • green chili for garnishing


  • Wash and soak Dal and rice for 1/2 an hour.
  • Cook the khichdi with 4 glass water and salt after a boil keep out the excess dirt , now cook the khichdi at least at least 15 minutes on sim flame
  • Heat the ghee in a pan and pop the cumin and chili then fry the onion till golden.
  • Serve hot khichdi garnish with fried onion,red chili and sliced green chili
