  • 250 gm Gooseberry or amla fresh amla or indian
  • 40 to 50 gm red chili powder according to taste u can adjust
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 4 tbsp fenugreek seeds powder
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Seeds Powder
  • 1 tsp asafoetida asefosedia or
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • 250 gm Oil or til seaseme or til


  • Clean Amla n dry it...
  • Heat a big pan pour 125 grams of oil n put a pinch of hing n amla and salt n fry till the amla become softs seeds come out easily.Remove seeds.
  • In a mixer make powder seperaterly of Methi seeds,mustard seeds and put them in a bowl and then add a tsp of sugar and add hing,chilli powder n salt too ..mix them well.
  • Now once seeds are removed add this powdered mixture and mix well...
  • Finally add heated and cooled remaining Til Oil(125gms) in wil last for months if properly made ..and is very tasty even...relish with Rice and ghee with a crispy papad or even parathas.

Recipe Notes

Store it in a glass tight container n pour an inch oil above pickle to keep it fresh always.
