Methi Amla Pickle

This "Methi Amla pickle"is very tasty as well as healthy good even for Diabetics as it is loaded with goodness of methi powder goes in it...hope you will enjoy it....You can relish instantly if you love slightly bittter taste of methi n mustard or else with time it will get better

  • Fresh Amla or Indian gooseberry 250 gm
  • 40 to 50 gms Red chilli powder according to taste u can adjust
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 4 tablespoon methi seeds powder
  • 2 tablespoon mustard seeds powder
  • Asefosedia or hing 1tsp
  • Salt
  • Seaseme Oil or Til oil 250 gm


  • Clean Amla n dry it...
  • Heat a big pan pour 125 grams of oil n put a pinch of hing n amla and salt n fry till the amla become softs seeds come out easily.Remove seeds.
  • In a mixer make powder seperaterly of Methi seeds,mustard seeds and put them in a bowl and then add a tsp of sugar and add hing,chilli powder n salt too ..mix them well.
  • Now once seeds are removed add this powdered mixture and mix well...
  • Finally add heated and cooled remaining Til Oil(125gms) in wil last for months if properly made ..and is very tasty even...relish with Rice and ghee with a crispy papad or even parathas.


Store it in a glass tight container n pour an inch oil above pickle to keep it fresh always.
