Ingredients for Mava Gujhia

  • Refined flour 1 kg
  • Mava 1/2 kg
  • Melon seeds 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut or dedicated coconut 2 tbsp
  • Green cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Powdered sugar 1/1/2 cup
  • Thinly sliced almond 2 tbsp
  • Chironji 2 tbsp
  • Ghee/ clarified butter 1/1/2 cup
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp refined flour and water for sealing

How to cook Mava Gujhia

  1. In a pan dry roast the mava till it become golden.
  2. Pop the melon seeds in another pan
  3. Now with the adding all the filling ingredients make the mixture .
  4. Knead the soft dough with ghee,flour and keep it for 1/2 an hour cover with a muslin cloth .
  5. Divide the dough into equal small ball and make the small poories .
  6. Fill the mixture in these poories and then seal the borders.
  7. heat the oil in a heavy bottom pan and turn the heat medium and fry the gujhiyas till golden and crisp,
  8. Cool and keep in a air tight container.
