Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 bowl Basmati Rice long grain rice, small bowl
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seed
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper seeds
  • 2-3 Bay leaf
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 2-3 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1-2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 bowl Green peas
  • 1 floret Cauliflower small bowl
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1-2 Potato
  • 1-2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic-ginger paste
  • Water as required
  • 1/2 bunch Coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions
 

  • Wash & clean the rice. Soak for 10-15 mins.
  • Cut the onion long,cut the tomatoes & potatoes. Keep aside.   
  • Heat oil in a broad vessel. Add cumin & mustard seeds.
  • Add the bay leaf/tej patta without breaking,cloves & black pepper seeds.
  • Saute on medium flame for 2-4 mins.
  • Add the onion,garlic-ginger paste & saute for 2-3 mins.
  • Add the turmeric powder,red chilli powder & garam masala.. Saute for 3-4 mins.
  • Add the tomatoes,green peas,florets & potatoes. Saute for 2-4 mins.
  • Add salt to taste. Add the rice grains & mix well with all the ingredients.
  • Add 2 cups of water & cover the lid.
  • Cook the rice for 15-20 mins.
  • While the rice is cooking mix it one more time.
  • The masale bhaat is ready.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves & serve.
