Malai Mushroom is a wonderful and mouth watering dessert with a fusion of Milk, rice, dry fruits and Mushrooms. Do try Malai Mushrooms at home. Very easy and convenient to make.

  • Milk 1 liter
  • Gobind vog rice 2 tbs
  • Sugar 4 tbs
  • Cardamom 2 nos
  • cloves 2 nos
  • Button Mushroom 75 gr.
  • Ghee 1 tbs
  • Cashewnuts 8 nos
  • Raisins 8 nos
  • Munnaka 2 tbs
  • Caramelized mushroom for decoration 3 nos
  • A pinch of saffron dissolved in 2 tsp milk


  • Cut the washed mushrooms in halves . Take 1 tbs ghee on a non stick pan , add the mushroom and cook it on a low flame till it is soft . Then add all the dry fruits and fry it for another 2 minutes. Boil milk with cloves , cardamom and rice in a heavy

  • Bottomed pan while stirring it continuously till it is reduced to half of its quantity. Add the cooked mushrooms with dry fruits . Add sugar and simmer till the mushroom is cooked while stirring continuously add saffron mix it well .
  • Serve hot or chilled ,garnished with caramelized mushrooms .
