Makhane Ka Raita

Creamy, salted, chilled makhana raita serve with stuffed paratha,poori or simple dal and rice.

  • 1 cup Makhana/ Fox nut
  • 1/2 kg Curd
  • Plane salt according to your taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mint powder optional
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • Pinch of heeng
  • 1 tbsp Finely chopped green chili
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 1 tbsp Desi ghee


  • Heat the ghee in a pan the roast the makhans till light golden ,dish out them. crush some makhana keep aside. Now whip the curd add 1/1/2 cup water mix well.
  • Add all spices in curd ,put the makhana mix again . Chill the raita Before serving garnish with coriander leaves roasted cumin powder and red chili powder .
