Makar Sankranti Special Revadi is recipe from North india and my grand ma's specialty.

  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/8 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon ghee clarified butter


  • Lightly dry roast the sesame seeds and keep aside. Heat the water and sugar together.
  • Add in the ghee and cardamom powder. As it boils, add the sesame seeds and mix. As mixture starts to leave the sides, switch off the gas.
  • Drop the spoonful of mixtures onto a greased plate/parchment paper and let them cool but not completely just before it cool down completely speed up your hand and roll like ladoo and let them cool completely.
  • Once cooled, remove from the plate and store in airtight container.
