Ingredients
  

  • Lemon-8
  • RedChillies-20
  • Mustard-3 tsp
  • Fenugreek-1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder-1 tsp
  • Asafoetida-1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Sesame Oil-3 tbsp

Instructions
 

  • Wash and pat dry all the lemons.Cut into small pieces.Place it in a clean vessel along with the juices.
  • In a pan dry roast fenugreek seeds and red chillies.Powder them in a blender once cooled.
  • Add this powder to the cut lemon pieces.Also add salt and turmeric powder.Mix well.
  • In a small pan add sesame oil and heat.Add mustard seeds to splutter and then add asafoetida. Cool the mixture.
  • Pour in the temperings to the lemon mixture.Mix well.
  • Lemon Pickle is ready.Use it after 2-3 days for the proper soaking of the lemon in spices.Store in a clean ceramic pot,container or a bottle.

Notes

  • Always use sesame oil for better taste.
  • You can boil lemons in water and cut them into pieces and follow the same proceedure.In that case you can use them instantaneously.
  • Always use a clean container for storage.
  • Use a wodden spoon for taking out the pickle.
