Kovakkai Poriyal is a typical south indian side dish prepared with Ivy Gourd and few basic ingredients. It is a Ivy Gourd stir fry recipe which is quick and easy. It is one of the simplest dish and at the same time delicious and a healthy dish.

Ingredients
- 250 gm Ivy Gourd (or kovakkai kovakkai)
- 6 Shallots (sliced)
- 2 Green Chillies (chopped)
- 1 leaves Curry
- 2 slices Coconut (fresh)
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- to Salt
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

Instructions
- Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add sliced shallots, kovakkai, chopped green chilies, curry leaves, coconut pieces.
- Mix well, cover and cook for 10 mins stirring in between.
- Add kashmiri chili powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
- Mix well and cook on medium flame for around 10 minutes stirring well in between. Take off the heat. Serve with rice.
