Milk Mohan or Milk Flower or traditional name kharcha mithai is a sweet dish which is mostly made in Lucknow or Faizabad side area. It is made by making small balls of maida and coating them with dry fruits and sugar and then adding them to the milk. White flour is mixed with ilaichi and then fried in a pan like halwa, then small balls of it are made, which are then fried in ghee to make it taste better.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 litter Full cream milk
  • 2 tablespoon Refined flour
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar as per taste or
  • 1 tablespoon Milk made
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped cashew nut
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoon Chiraonji
  • 2 tablespoon Pistachio
  • 1 +1 tsp Green cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon Pure ghee + for frying
  • chopped nuts and rose petal for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan. After boiling, add chopped nuts, milk made, cardamom powder and turn the heat to low. Keep stirring occasionally. In a bowl add flour, cardamom powder and make a thin batter by adding water.
  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and add batter cook while string continuously till its reaches the consistency of a halwa. Now make small balls from this mixture, heat the ghee in another pan turn the heat to slow and fry the balls till they turn golden.
  • It will take 15 minute per batch. Now add the fried balls in milk and cook for 5 to 8 minutes more.
  • Switch off the gas and garnish with chopped nuts. Serve chilled.

Notes

Always cook the ball on low heat to avoid them from bursting .
