This sweet treat from the sweethearts of Maharashtra is one of the surest ways to chill in the heart. A dessert which transforms ordinary curds into a delicacy.

  • 1 Kg curd
  • 1 tsp cardamoms powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 7 to 8 strand of saffron
  • 2 tsp milk
  • 4 to 5 almond chopped
  • 4 to 5 pistachio chopped


  • For hung curd, you can hang curd in a muslin cloth till all the water drains out or for 3 hours.However, the simpler method is to keep the curd in a large stainless steel sieve and let it stay there for about 15 minutes till all the water drains out
  • Rub the saffron into the warm milk until it dissolves. Mix the hung curd and sugar in a bowl with the spoon till it gets a smooth texture.
  • Add the saffron milk, cardamom powder and mix well. Sprinkle almond and pistachio on top. Chill and serve cold with puris.
