Kashmiri Kahwah Tea

Kahwah is a traditional green tea preparation consumed in Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, some regions of Central Asia and in northern India especially in the Kashmir Valley.The tea is made by boiling green tea leaves with saffron strands, cinnamon bark, cardamom pods and occasionally Kashmiri roses to add a great aroma. Generally, it is served with sugar or honey and crushed nuts, usually almonds or walnuts.

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon Kashmiri Kahwah green tea leaves
- 2 cup Water 1/2 cups
- Sugar or Honey - as per taste
- 8 -10 Almonds sliced
- 1 teaspoon Pink rose petals
- 1 pinch Saffron a generous pinch
- 1/2 inch Cinnamon bark
- 2 to 3 Clove
- 2 to 3 Green cardamoms

Instructions
- Start by heating the water in a pan
- Next add in the saffron, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, rose petals and almonds and allow to simmer for 3 to 4 minutes
- Switch off the gas and add in the tea leaves, allow to steep for one minute and drain off the water, discarding the tea leaves.
- In a serving cup add a few almond slices, some saffron strands and a few rose petals.
- Pour the prepared tea over the nuts and rose petals, add in sugar or honey as required. Serve hot.
