Ingredients
  

  • Karela Bitter gourd - 150 grams
  • Aloo Potatoes - 100 grams
  • Onion - 100 grams
  • Salt
  • Green Chilly - 3-4
  • Mustard oil - 4-5 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Sabzi & Garam Masala 1 to 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed 1/2 tbs
  • Chopped Ginger

  • Peel the potatoes, onions & bitter gourd (karela) wash and & thinly slice them. Finely chop the green chili's as well.

  • In a bowl take the sliced bitter gourd pcs and add salt and boil for 15 mins. Squeeze out all the water, wash the karela in running water and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadhai and add cumin seed, chopped chili's, ginger & onions and fry till they become light brown.
  • Add the potatoes and fry them till they become light brown.
  • Add Turmeric powder, Sabzi & Garam Masala and mix well. Salt to taste

  • Then add finely boiled & chopped bitter gourd (karela) mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Keep the flame low and let it cook till the potatoes, Karela is done. This will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • Serve hot with chapati( Indian Flat Bread).

Notes

Peel the bittergourd from outside and remove the seeds and boil them so as to remove the bitterness of Bitter Gourd.
