Kadhai Paneer

Kadhai Paneer is among the most healthy recipes of paneer & chili / bell peppers .So I believe it should be a must have in every kitchen like mine . Here is my recipe .

  • Paneer / cottage cheese 200gm
  • Onion 2 medium size
  • Tomato 2 large size
  • Coriander powder 1tsp
  • Kashmiri red chili powder to taste
  • Black pepper corn 15-20
  • Cinnamon stick 1 inch long
  • White seasme seeds 1tsp
  • Ginger roughly chopped 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic cloves 5-6
  • Kasoori methi powder 1 tsp
  • Different coloured chopped bell peppers 1 cup
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 th tsp


  • Soak paneer cubes in 2 cups of lukewarm water. While the cubes are soaked roughly chop tomato & 1 onion. Chop other onion in big cubes like you have done your bell peppers
  • Heat a wok. Put oil in it. Once the oil is heated add
  • Keep onions aside. Now add remaining 2 tbsp oil in wok. Heat it. Add roughly chopped onions and cook till it is translucent. Add ginger garlic cinemmon black pepper corns seasme seed, salt , turmeric & chili powder& cook fr 3 min
  • Now add tomatoes and cook for another 3 min .keep stirring in between. Now switch off the gas. Let everything cool for a while and then grind using mixer grinder
  • Serve hot with roti paratha or haan.


  • Everything is cooked in less oil. So keep the flame medium or low.
  • Adjust salt once you mix everything.
  • You can add some garam Masala powder too but I don’t prefer it. I often don’t add turmeric powder too.though I have added this time & it just changedthe colour.
