Ingredients
 

  • 20 piece Jackfruit seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 Potato
  • 1 Eggs
  • Salt as per taste
  • Bread Crumbs as required

  • Remove the outer white skin of the seed first using hand or knife.

  • Wash and pressure cook for 3 whistles by adding little salt and turmeric. On the other side cook the masala in a pan. Putting onion, ginger garlic paste and green chilly. Once its golden brown put all the masala powder and cook till its raw smell go.

  • Cook the potato also along with this in the cooker. Peel the skin and keep aside. Once done drain the water completely. Allow this to cool. Mash the seeds and potatoes well.

  • In a wide bowl add the ground jackfruit seed, mashed potato, along with cooked masala. Mix well into a tight dough consistency.

  • Grease your hands with oil and take out a lemon sized ball of the mixture. Flatten it and keep it in a plate. Then dip in egg white and coat with bread crumbs and keep it aside for frying.

  • Heat oil in a pan and once it is hot, bring the flame to medium. Put the jackfruit seed patties in batches and fry in a medium flame.

  • Once done take out from the oil. Drain the excess oil in the kitchen towel.Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Recipe Notes

  • Ensure that the jack fruit seeds are drained well and cooled completely before grinding.
  • Adding potato is optional. You can add 1/2 cup of scrambled paneer also
  • You can dip the patties in corn flour mixture or egg white and coat them with bread crumbs.
