Instant Kuzhipaniyaram

A South Indian breakfast recipe which is known as paniyaram in Tamil Nadu. Paddu in karnataka and ponganalu in Telugu. This recipe is an instant version prepared with semolina. It is later served with choice of chutney or even sambar for morning breakfast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup semolina
  • ¾ cup curd
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon chilli chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 5 curry leaves finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl add semolina, curd, salt mix well. Add ½ cup water and mix well.
  • In a pan add oil heat it add ginger, chilli and onion saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add roasted onion, curry leaves, coriander leaves in a semolina batter and mix well.
  • Rest for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes add baking soda mix well.
  • Grease the appe pan with few drops of oil.
  • Pour the semolina batter 1 tbsp in each.
  • Cover with lid. Simmer for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Turn the side and again cook for 2 - 3 minutes. Cooked completely.
  • Enjoy instant kuzhipaniyaram
