  • 1/2 cup Refined flour
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Salt tspn, or as per taste
  • 1/2 red chili powder tspn
  • 1/4 Black Pepper Powder tspn
  • 1 Soy Sauce tspn
  • Oil for frying
  • Sauce ingredients for
  • 1/2 Onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Green Chillies or sauce tspn sauce
  • 2 Tomato Ketchup tspn
  • 1/2 tsp Salt tspn, or as per taste
  • 1/4 Black Pepper Powder tspn
  • 1/4 cup Spring Onion Greens
  • 2 Oil tspn


  • Mix maida, cornflour, ginger garlic paste, salt, pepper, red chilli powder and soy sauce in a bowl. Add water to make a paste, but it should be of thick consistency. Now cut the idlis into cubes or stripes. But it should be in big pieces.
  • Heat the oil for frying. Now dip the idlis into the batter or paste and drop them into the oil. Deep fry them till they turn golden brown in color. Now on the other hand take a pan heat some oil. Add chopped onion with ginger garlic paste.
  • Saute it for a min. Now add soy sauce, green chilli sauce, tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Saute it and add 1 tspn cornflour mixed in little bit water. Now add some chopped spring onion greens and fried Idlis in it.
  • Mix or toss so that it is coated completely. And now Idly Manchurian is ready to serve.
