Ingredients
 

  • 200 gm Ragi Flour aachi â
  • 3 spoon Batter or rice or soup idly soup full
  • 100 gm Urad dhal â
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • Water required amount
  • Tomato or carrot carrot chutney
  • Tempering for
  • 1/2 Oil â tspn
  • 1/2 Mustard Seeds â tspn
  • 1-2 leaves Curry
  • Grinding for
  • 3 large Tomato ripe â
  • 1 no Carrot
  • 2 Whole Red Chilli nos
  • 1/4 Red Chillies aachi pwd tspn
  • 2 Garlic nos
  • 1/4 inch Ginger pc
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • 1/4 inch Jagerry pc

Instructions
 

  • Soak the urad dhal s for 1 hour.
  • Grind the urad dhal to a smooth paste.
  • Mix together ragi flour, urad dhal paste, salt and idly batter
  • Leave to ferment for at least 8 hours.
  • Once the batter is fermented, Grease the oil or ghee in a idly cooker plates and pour the batter, steam cook for 10 minutes. After steaming cut the idlies with help of cookie cutter desire shape.
  • Serve hot with coriander chutney, roasted gram chutney, tomato chutney or fish curry, mutton kurma, chicken kurma

  • For Carrot Tomato Chutney
  • In a mixie add tomato, carrot, garlic, ginger, red chilli pwd, salt, whole red chilli ,jaggery (do not add water) ground well.
  • In a pan, heat the oil temper with mustard seeds & curry leaves. Add ground tomato carrot mix and cook for 5 minutes till the water absorb.
  • Healthy Tomato carrot chutney is ready to serve.
  • his chutney goes well with any Snack or South Indian Tiffin items Healthy side dish for ragi idly
