When coming to kid’s food, I being a mother, become a kid of that age myself. Yes, I am a Mother thinking like a kid and focusing on nutrition as well. It’s important to cultivate healthy eating habits in children for their better physical, emotional and mental growth. This muffin is one of the healthy eating recipes for kids.
Kids, do you know why animated Minions love bananas? It is not only because of its taste but it is a healthy and nutritional fruit. Bananas give instant energy and kids love chocolates. That’s why it is called as Chunky (Chocolates) Monkey (as they love bananas) Muffin.
Chunky Monkey muffin is very nutritional as it contains protein, carbohydrate, soluble dietary fibre, vitamins & minerals, antioxidant rich dark chocolate and is further fortified with calcium rich Green yogurt. Everything in one go and kids will surely grab one and go for its taste!

Ingredients
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 cup Quick Cooking Oats
- 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder unsweetened
- 1/2 tsp Salt or as per taste
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 cup Banana almost 3 medium sized bananas mashed
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt or yogurt thick yogurt
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Oil
- cup Dark Chocolate Chips â¾ chunks
- 1/4 cup Almonds chopped finely, or walnuts walnuts

Instructions
- Arrange muffin cups on a baking tray or muffin tray.
- Sieve whole wheat flour along with cocoa powder, salt and baking soda. Set aside in a bowl.
- Add quick cooking oats and mix until all the dry ingredients are combined.
- In another large mixing bowl, mix mashed banana, Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract and oil until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix gently.
- Stir in ½ cup of dark chocolate chips / chunks and the nuts.
- Mix until the ingredients are combined well. Do not do a over mixing.
- Preheat oven at 160 c.
- Fill ¾th level of each muffin cups with the muffin batter.
- Top them with the remaining chocolate chips / chunks.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated oven at 160 c or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Allow the baked muffins to cool on a cooling rack.
- Serve a delicious and healthy muffin for your kids as their snacks / brunch / breakfast muffin with fresh fruits and milk.

- 1 Cup = 250 ml
