Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- For an extra nutty and crunchy texture, roast chopped almonds, cashews, or pistachios with the wheat flour before adding the gond; this enhances both flavor and nutrition.
- If using dried fruits like raisins, figs, or dates, chop them finely and sauté briefly in a little ghee before mixing in—this prevents them from clumping and deepens their caramelized flavor.
- To ensure the gond puffs up perfectly and stays crisp, fry it in ghee over medium heat; once it swells and turns light, immediately remove and crush it gently with a rolling pin for even distribution throughout the laddus.
- Store the laddus in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, but if you live in a humid climate, refrigerate them to maintain their texture and prevent spoilage.
