Gajar ka halwa also known as gajrela is a sweet dessert pudding, Gajar ka halwa is a very delicious Indian dessert usually prepared with grated carrot, sugar, dry nuts and mawa, i have used milk powder instead of mawa

Ingredients
  

  • Carrot -1 kg
  • Sugar -250 gms or as per taste u can also add sugar free powder instead of sugar
  • Milk powder- 1 cup
  • Desi ghee -2 tbsp
  • Chopped cashew- 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder -1 tbsp
  • Chopped pistachio- 2 tbsp
  • Chopped almonds -2 tbsp
  • Milk -2/1/2 cups
  • Cashew for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Wash and grate the carrots.
  • Put the milk to boil, when it starts boiling add grated cattots, cook on low flame for 30 minutes.
  • Stirring occasionally, now add sugar mix well and cook till the sugar dissolved and all the milk has been absorbed.
  • Add Ghee and simmer the flame stir for 2 minutes, add chopped nuts and cardamom powder, and milk powder mix and saute for another 2-3 minutes till everything is blended.
  • If there are milk powder lumps, no worries, mash them with spatula.
  • Dish out the halwa and garnish with cashew.
  • Serve hot or at room temperature.
