About this Recipe

As I always want to make healthier and nutritious version of every simple recipe. I added few fruits and dry fruits to make simple vermicelli Kheer with a twist. This delicious, healthy and nutritious dish is a very good dessert option This Kheer is loaded with Ghee, Dry fruits and fruits like custard apple, Plum and apricot hence good for feeding moms, toddler and growing kids. I always keep the powdered form of dry fruits as sometimes kids do not like solid pieces of dry fruits So hide and give. After all Moms are expert in this task of feeding healthy stuff to their kids. :-)) We can always reduce the calorie content by few substitution but as Sorry time I am not going to do that.

Ingredients & Quantity
  • Vermicelli - 1/2 cup
  • 1 ltr Full Cream Milk
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 medium sized Custard apple (deseed and pulped)
  • 1/2 tsp Cashew powder
  • 1/2 tsp Walnut powder
  • Few slices of apricot and plum for garnishing
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
How to cook?
  1. Put Ghee in Kadai and roast Vermicelli for 1 min or till it turns golden brown.
  2. Add Milk and Custard Apple pulp and let it simmer for 10 minutes
  3. Always add Cashew and walnut or any dry fruit of your choice in the end otherwise they cook a lot and loose their nutrients.
  4. Garnish it with thin slices of apricot and plum just to make it colorful and attractive.
Notes
  • Always keep some powdered dry fruits in freeze. Helps in cooking a lot.
