  • 1 cup Foxtail Millet
  • 2 cup Jagerry
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Coconut
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tbsp Desi Ghee
  • 12 cashews
  • 10 to 12 Raisins


  • wash and soak foxtail millet for half an hour to one hour.
  • pressure cook the millets for 3 to 4 whistles. Or we can cook it separately in a thick bottomed pan.
  • add milk and jaggery to it. Mix it well and cook till the jaggery melts.
  • in another pan heat ghee and fry cashew nuts and raisins. keep them aside.
  • once the millets become soft and jaggery melts completely add grated fresh coconut. give a nice mix.
  • add fried cashew nuts and raisins and give a nice mix.
  • serve foxtail millet kheer hot or warm.
