Ingredients
- 1 cup Besan (150 g)
- 1-2 tsp Salt ( or as per taste)
- 2 tbsp Yogurt
- 1 glass Water
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice (fresh)
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 4 pcs Chillies-4 Pcs (chillies)
- 1/2 cup Curry Patta (fresh)
- 1 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
- Mix gradually besan, water,salt,fresh lemon juice(1tbsp) and yogurt(2 tbsps) in a bowl slowly without forming lumps .
- Keep in aside for 30 mins.
- Boil water in your steamer(I used momo steamer )
- After 30 mins add baking powder and baking soda to the dhokla mixture and mixed it properly .
- Grease the tin where you will make the dhokla (i used 3x7 inch cake tin) and set it in the steamer . note:After mixting the baking soda and powder set the tin immediately in the steamer.
- It will take around 20 to 25 mins (poke with a teeth pick to check whether cooked properly) .
- Once cooked, keep it aside to cool down.
- Boil 1 cup of water with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice.
- Take the dhokla out of the tin and pour the sugar syrup over the dhokla and let it absorb properly
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and splutter some black mustard seeds, curry patta and chillies for garnish.
Recipe Notes
After mixting the baking soda and powder set the tin immediately in the steamer.
poke with a teeth pick to check whether cooked properly .
Demold only after it cools down.
