Flower Mathri
Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- Water as required to knead the dough
- 1 tsp kalonji black sesame seeds
- oil for frying

Instructions
- Take flour in a mixing bowl
- Add ghee, salt, carom seeds and mix well
- Add water little by little and make a stiff dough
- Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes
- Now divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portions into a smooth ball
- Roll each ball into a little thick disc
- Take a cookie cutter and cut it into circles
- Now make 8 cut impressions
- For petal shape gather and twist the portion at tha edge
- Apply water in the center and sprinkle kalonji and press it
- Make all the mathris in the same way
- Prick the mathris with a toothpick
- Heat oil in a pan
- When it becomes hot, lower the flame to medium
- Gently slide in the mathris and fry both sides on medium flame till crispy
- Once done, drain and remove on absorbent paper
- When it becomes cool store in an air tight container
