This is a bengali authentic recipe. Bengali people are fond of fish. They do as many as fish head recipe. Sometimes with chana dal, sometimes with moong dal, sometimes with cabbage, sometimes with mixed vegetables that is called muri ghanta. Sometimes with rice, sometimes flat rice (cheers).

Ingredients Â
- Whole fish head
- 100 gm moong dal
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 gm cumin seeds
- Chopped tomato
- Green chillies
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- Salt to taste

- Wash the fish head thoroughly then marinate with salt turmeric powder, and lemon juice.
- Fry the marinated fish head with mustard oil.
- Flip to other side.
- Wash and soak moong dal then boil with bay leaves, salt and turmeric powder.

- Heat oil in a pan add whole red chilli, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic and onion paste. Stir for a few seconds add chopped green chillies, chopped tomato and stir continuously.
- Pour the cooked dal and add fried fish head. Cook for a few minutes add garam masala and close the lid. Serve with steamed rice.
