Fish head is as tastier as fish. Sometimes it is cooked with bottle gourd, sometimes with moong dal, sometimes with different types of shakh and vegetables. There are variety of recipes. Here I cooked with chana dal.

Ingredients
- 1 head Fish (big size)
- 1 cup Chana Daal (soaked)
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- 2 tsp Onion Paste
- 2 tbsp Tomato (chopped)
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 2 tsp Desi Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin Seed
- Whole Red Chilli
- Whole Garam Masala
- leaves Green Chillies (or coriander coriander and)

Instructions
- Soak and boil the chana dal. In other side marinate the fish head with turmeric powder and salt.
- Then fry the fish head and keep aside. In the same pan add onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder and chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies then stir continuously.
- Add boiled chana dal, cumin powder and garam masala. Break the fish head roughly then add into the dal. Cook for a minute.
- Take a pan for tempering add ghee, whole red chilli, bay leaves, cumin seeds, cloves and cardamom. Pour the cooked dal and sprinkle with coriander leaves. Now ready to serve
